From youth washing to meaningful youth participation
The importance of youth participation in policy-making, including UNFCCC processes, has significantly increased over the last few years. The climate crisis is inherently an intergenerational justice problem, and youth should be included in the decision-making processes that will shape their future.
However, youth participation has also been instrumentalized and tokenized, and in this panel, we will learn from the challenges and the successes of meaningful youth participation.
